Teaching Philosophy

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.

-Benjamin Franklin

As a teacher I strive to engage, challenge and inspire growth in my students. It is my belief that every student is brilliant and can learn without assuming any prior knowledge.

I think that in order to be a good teacher, one should have a special gift. Not every pianist can become a good teacher. That is possible only if you love to teach and to dedicate yourself to your student’s growth. My main goal is to make my students feel successful so they will want to discover more.

I spend a lot of time with my students working on technique, phrasing, quality of sound, interpretations, rhythm and ability to listen to their sound. I try to make them understand their technical and musical abilities and how to work on developing those skills. Additionally, I want students to develop a rich vocabulary and musical understanding. In my studio, I always have discipline and at the same time make them see me as a friend, who only wants their best.

I teach students of all ages, but I really enjoy teaching young kids. Getting to know each one’s different personality made me realize one thing: All kids are looking for a fun lesson and I try to be very creative with musical games. Happy and relaxed kids, hardly realize they are learning because they are having so much fun.

I have the best job in the world!

My aim as a teacher is to ensure that each student is treated with great respect and care.
